Tressé Agoche is both an exploration & expansion on the braid's ornamental value. By using the braid as a form of technology, Tressé Agoche reinterprets traditional hair braiding into head garments to help push the braid's varying dimensions ; including its cultural role as a hair styling alternative, its topical use in both functional + fashion items , as well as, its architectural + compositional abilities as a 3-strand woven object. So while hyper-sensitizing the physical braid itself + acknowledging its presence throughout the ages, Tressé Agoche also seeks to unveil how the braid has + continues to serve as a multicultural link.
